European Public Health Association (EUPHA)

The European Public Health Association (EUPHA) is an international, multidisciplinary organization that brings together almost 40,000 public health professionals from all over the world. Currently, it connects 82 members from 47 countries including 45 National Public Health Associations and 26 Public Health Institutes within Europe. The Cyprus Epidemiology and Public Health Association (CyEPHA) as the National Public Health Association of Cyprus is a full member of EUPHA.

The vision of EUPHA is to improve health and well-being and narrow health inequalities for all Europeans by providing support to its members and strengthening their capacity to improve population health

EUPHA has designed a strategy for the period 2020-2025  that focusses on the following eight goals  which are achieved through the concept of the three A’s: AnalysisAdvocacy and Action

Goal 1: Support the EUPHA members in their work at the national, regional and local level

Goal 2: Consolidate and expand the EUPHA partnership

Goal 3: Stimulate and facilitate mutual learning

Goal 4: Actively stimulate the younger generation to be part of the EUPHA network

Goal 5: Keep health a priority on the European and national agendas

Goal 6: Strengthening public health research in Europe

Goal 7: Deliver the right evidence at the right time

Goal 8: Support implementation of the SDGs and all policies for a healthy Europe

CyEPHA Membership with EUPHA and its benefits

As a full member of EUPHA, CyEPHA and its members enjoy various benefits. CyEPHA has representation at the Governing Board of EUPHA. The current representatives are Dr Ourania Kolokotroni and Dr Alexandros Heraclides, interim board members of CyEPHA.

All CyEPHA members become by definition members of EUPHA and 8 Euros of their CyEPHA membership goes towards their EUPHA membership. Being a EUPHA member means that you are part of a large European-wide network of public health experts and you can participate in all EUPHA activities. Furthermore, you benefit from (a) an 80 Euro reduction on the registration fees for all European Public Health Conferences and (b) a 20% reduction of the Open Access charges if you publish in the European Journal of Public Health
